What I can help with
If it plugs in or connects to the internet, I can probably help. Here are the jobs I get asked about most.
PC and Apple repairs
Windows PCs, laptops, MacBooks and iMacs. Won’t turn on, running slow, cracked screens, failed drives and upgrades.
Virus and malware removal
Pop ups, strange messages and nasty software cleaned off, with proper protection set up so it doesn’t come back.
Data recovery and backups
Lost photos, deleted files or a dead hard drive? I’ll do everything I can to get them back, then set up backups so it never happens again.
WiFi and broadband
Dead spots, dropouts, slow speeds and new routers set up properly.
New computers and printers
Unboxed, updated and ready with your files moved over. Printers connected to your WiFi and printing every time.
Phones and tablets
iPhone, iPad and Android help, from setting up to sorting storage.
Email and accounts
Locked out, forgotten passwords, or email that has stopped arriving.
Smart TV and home
Streaming apps, smart speakers, doorbells and cameras connected up.
Lessons at your pace
Patient one to one sessions to build confidence on any device.
Websites too
Need a website, or help with the one you’ve got?
Whether it’s for your club, village hall, hobby or a small business on the side, I’ll build it, look after it and help people find it. You don’t need to understand any of the technical bits.
Website design
A clean, friendly site that looks great on phones and is easy for you to update yourself.
Looking after your site
Updates, backups, security checks and small changes, so it keeps working and you never have to worry.

How it works
1
Tell me what’s up
Fill in the short form, send an email or give me a call. Describe it however you like, there’s no wrong way to explain a problem.
2
We pick a time
I’ll reply with a price and a time that suits you. Some things I can fix remotely the same day, others need a visit.
3
Sorted, and written down
Once it’s fixed I’ll show you what I did and send a written summary, with any passwords or settings you’ll need later.
Fixing tech since
1992
Over 30 years helping people get the most from their technology
Hi, I’m Pete
I started out in 1992 as a Saturday boy in a local electronics shop. As technology moved on, the shop turned into a computer shop, and when the owner decided computers weren’t worth investing in, I took it over.
Over 30 years later I’ve been involved in plenty of businesses, in IT and well beyond it, and I still run an IT consultancy today. Ask Pete is my way of offering that experience back to communities across Norfolk, at a rate that’s fair for home users.
Whatever’s going on with your tech, chances are I’ve seen it before.
My experience covers
PCs and laptops
Apple Mac, iPhone and iPad
Websites and web technologies
Electronics
Data and telecoms
Fibre optics
Smart home
Audio and video
Home networks

Questions people ask
Do I need to know much about computers?
Not at all. Tell me what you see on the screen and what you wanted to happen, I will take it from there.
Can you help without coming round?
Often, yes. With your permission I can securely see your screen and fix things while we chat on the phone.
What if it can’t be fixed?
If you’ve brought it to me and I can’t fix it, you don’t pay. On a home visit the visit charge still covers my travel and time, but I’ll always tell you honestly whether something is worth repairing or replacing.
Can you help me choose a new laptop or phone?
Yes. I will recommend something that suits what you actually do, not the most expensive model in the shop.
How do I pay?
